It is matured in a combination of new American and French Oak barrels and aged for a minimum of 12 months. It is then distilled again before it is racked in vintage Bordeaux barrels, from the finest French chateaux ("Burdeos" means Bordeaux in Spanish). The taste is smooth and sweet; with great body and a long-lasting finish, it offers notes of oak, light agave, vanilla and raisins. Aromas of black plum, violet and pomegranate are wrapped in a bouquet of hazelnut, coconut and Italian espresso. The large palate volume of this wine is surprisingly soft and round on the finish. Michael~David Lust Zinfandel      Value: $200 1.5 Liter Lust Zinfandel, Lodi Appellation, 2010 Each year only the most outstanding small lots are isolated from the over 100 produced at Michael David to bottle under Lust. This vintage, three lots stood out as being the most structured while displaying a ton of ripe berry and spice characteristics we all expect to come from a Zinfandel. To enhance this wine all three lots were blended together and put into new American oak barrels that were purchased especially for this program. After being aged for 18 months we blended with a little Petite Sirah to increase the already great depth, color, and tannin structure.
