JAZZ GREATS HEADLINE PERFORMING ARTS ELEMENT
OF SAVOR DALLAS
Dallas, TX --- Grammy award-winning jazz sensation David Sanborn and talented trumpeter Chris Botti headline the February 17th “Bubbles N’ Jazz” event during Savor Dallas (Feb 16-18). Held at the Hilton Anatole (formerly the Wyndham) the gala features champagne by Moët & Chandon, sumptuous cuisine by Nana’s Anthony C. Bombaci and the presentation of the 2006 “Lone Star Awards”.
Renowned and revered the world over as one of the greatest saxophone players of all-time, David Sanborn has inspired countless other musicians while creating a body of work that spans the genres of rock ‘n’ roll, R&B, pop and jazz. A naturally gifted performer, David has helped define the saxophone’s modern sound while influencing a generation.
In 2005, Sanborn accompanied Chris Botti on “To Love Again”, Botti’s newest album which has garnered two Grammy Award nominations for Best Pop Instrumental Performance and Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalists. Having performed with the likes of Sting, Gladys Knight, Steven Tyler, Paul Simon and Joni Mitchell, Botti is a gifted instrumentalist, a talented composer and a charismatic performer earning critical acclaim and mainstream appreciation.
In addition, Savor founders Jim White and Vicki Briley White present the 2006 Lone Star Awards honoring outstanding achievement by professionals in the food, wine and spirits industries, also recognizing significant contributions to the Arts as well as culinary entrepreneurship with the "Texas Spirit Award".
The wine and food lovers weekend also features world-class wine and spirits experts and celebrity chef demonstrations Highlights include: “The Arts District Wine Stroll” (downtown Dallas), “The International Grand Tasting”, featuring over 500 wines, spirits and signature samples from 50 of DFW’s top chefs. Superstars from the world of food and wine include Rocco DiSpirito, Andrea Immer Robinson Master Sommelier, Stephan Pyles, Gale Gand (Tru, Chicago), Aaron Sanchez (Palladar, New York), Dean Fearing, Steve Olson "aka Wine Geek", Doug Frost Master Sommelier/Master of Wine, Charles Curtis Master of Wine, Guy Stout Master Sommelier and Dale DeGroff "King Cocktail", Tom Perini (Perini Ranch), and three-time James Beard award winning authors Cheryl and Bill Jamison.
